CSR1000V Smart Licensing

Hello. This is pretty much a similar process to the ASAv Smart Licensing post I made earlier. Ensure you have a working DNS configuration and can resolve names on the internet.

Additionally, ensure you have went to the smart licensing inventory page (https://software.cisco.com/#SmartLicensing-Inventory), generated your token and have it ready to proceed before moving further.

Let’s enable smart licensing. The router will complain if you have a previous call-home profile, so be sure to remove any of those prior to enabling smart licensing. Additionally, this is based on a fresh installation of CSR1000V and therefore does not have any existing PAK or legacy licenses installed.  By default, it will generate whatever platform throughput level you input when you deployed the OVA file. I chose a small installation with 1G throughput.
